I am sorry to read the story and in my view did everything you can. I did not read others' comments to know what they said. People, that too in India, treat doctors like God and just like God they refuse to talk to patients. In fact, they are similar to normal maistries and mechanics who practice educated guessing with all the pitfalls, mistakes, and half-baked skills - not all, but a significant %. In addition, their thoroughness and care is directly proportional to the influence, wealth, and power of the patient they treat.
Hope you get over this tragedy in due course and continue to live productively and contribute to the society.
P.S. The painting is excellent and as a layman I am hardly qualified to comment on it except to appreciate it.

Are Gold Jewels Necessary?
I agree..... the tradition dies hard. When women are working on finishing degrees, making as much money as young men, dating, and selecting their own partners...it sounds ridiculous that this "gold" tradition continues. One shudders to imagine the crowds at those jewlery shops on Usman road.
Indians have the penchant to find the culprit in any unfortunate incident...if they cannot they WILL find one. Poor are equated with cheats, liars, dirty, uneducated, unworthy.

Part of the fault for all your mess is yourself. You just gave him a confusing message and a rope to escape.
You want me take a bet ? He will do it all again and use your own statements as an excuse and justification. As per your blog, all he did was to justify and reason his actions. The only reason he talked and apologized to you is bcz he is afraid you might walk out on him. He wants to eat the cake and have it too.
He must have been a Village Landlord in his previous life who kept his wife in the kitchen for service and status, while spending nights at mistresses place.

Perhaps you should convert this into a Masters thesis in the field of Social behavior or "virtual intimate relationship." Just like there you presented all types and did not take any side, and left half way saying it could be anything depending on the person....
But, whatever you said is 100% true, and I agree whatever it is the individual decides, acts, justifies, and deals with the consequences.The moment the second person - a real partner - gets involved in the matter, the problem is all 100% real.

A view of Trichy temples
Thanks for the writing. Although lived in Trichy for a while, never been to Pillayaar patti. Hm.... Never saw so many tall buildings from Uchi Pillayar koil. The fact that I cannot digest is that this "tall" rockfort is supposedly only 252 fr tall - I can neve figure that out.... as it apears much taller.
